Quantum Cybersecurity

In the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity, AI and quantum are rapidly becoming game-changers. Their potential promises to dramatically change how governments and organizations protect, defend, and evolve systems to deal with evolving cyber threats. Quantum computing offers unparalleled computational power that could break traditional encryption methods. While this presents a challenge, quantum technology also provides an opportunity to develop advanced encryption techniques that are quantum-resistant.

Quantum cryptography, for instance, can leverage the principles of quantum mechanics to create unbreakable codes, ensuring secure communications in the face of future threats. Cybersecurity will be both a large industry for quantum computing usage, but also be threatened by quantum computing. Understanding these relationships will be essential for a safer digital future.

I will provide an overview of quantum computing, the current state of the art and impact on cybersecurity.


Dr Mazhar Ali Bari has a research and development history in high-temperature superconducting Josephson Junction-based qubits at the University of Cambridge (Ph.D. work 1992-1996) and continues to track the field and development of the value chain and use cases for different industries.
